The Six Principles of Pilates

Pilates is more than a workout - it’s a thoughtful, intentional movement practice designed to support the whole body. At our studio, we honor the six foundational principles that guide everything we do, from private lessons to small, intimate classes.

Centering/Stabilization

All movement begins from the center. By strengthening the deep core muscles that support your spine and pelvis, we help you build a foundation for better posture, balance, and everyday movement - inside and outside the studio.

Control

Control is what makes Pilates both effective and safe. Each movement is performed with purpose, allowing us to support injury recovery, build stability, and strengthen the body without strain. This is especially important in rehab-focused and private sessions.

Concentration

Pilates works best when you’re fully present. With personalized guidance and close attention, our classes encourage mindful movement - helping you reconnect with your body, improve alignment, and move with confidence.

Flow of Movement

Pilates is designed to move with grace and continuity. Exercises flow together to build strength, coordination, and ease - helping your body feel strong, supported, and connected rather than rigid or overworked.

Breath

Movement starts with breath. We use intentional breathing to support the body, improve circulation, and create ease through every exercise. In our small, intimate sessions, breath becomes a tool for healing, strength, and greater body awareness.

Precision

Small details make a big difference. Our instructors focus on precise alignment and intentional movement, ensuring you get the most out of every exercise. Precision allows us to tailor each session to your body, your goals, and your needs.
